The blues ain't nothing but a very long day,
After which there might be nothing to say to nobody blues.

Got the hand me my coat and hat,
Got the, "Shit, had enough of that,"
Got the, "How did my heart go splat?"
Blues and greys the color of winter days blues.

The blues ain't nothing but the sound of dreams breaking,
After which there might be nothing to be taking to nobody blues.

Blues, blacks and reds; it's just blue in your head blues.

The blues ain't nothing but a sorry way to sing,
After which there might be nothing to bring to nobody blues.

Got the blood in my eyes, kinda
Autumn and whys, kinda
Where is the cat, kinda,
Where is the fuckin' cat
Blues and greys the color of winter days blues.

Blues remind me of spring so I sing to get it right
And I might as well tell you right now
There were times I sang the blues all night
Until the morning broke upon me in its blues and pinks
Stretch out the kinks in my heart blues.
